Subiaco is about to become the heart of Perth’s street art scene this October with the No More Blank Walls Subi street art festival. Running from October 17 to 27, the festival will bring together both local and international street artists to transform the city’s blank walls into vibrant, large-scale murals. Art enthusiasts and curious locals alike can look forward to a visually captivating 10-day celebration of creativity, featuring stunning murals, interactive workshops, live art demonstrations, and guided tours.
The festival has a star-studded lineup of street art talent, including some of Australia’s most celebrated muralists. Leading the charge is Sofles, a Queensland-based artist renowned for his high-energy, complex designs. Sofles will be working daily from October 22 to 27, creating a stunning mural behind Shui on Sagar Lane. His bold, large-scale works are set to be a highlight of the event.
Danby, another Queensland artist, will bring his realist style to Xanthis Lane, while Perth’s own Bec Abdy will add her signature touch with native flora-inspired designs on Alvan Street. Adding to the mix, Victorian artist HWJ will paint his typographic abstractions at Vibe Hotel, while Graeme Miles-Richards and Tessa Dorotich, two talented Western Australian artists, will bring Subiaco’s walls to life with their contemporary and playful designs.

This year’s festival also features a thrilling international component, with Wild Drawing from Indonesia creating mesmerizing 3D murals on Rowland Street. He will be joined by UK-based muralist Curtis Hylton, who is known for fusing flora and fauna in his large-scale works at Barker Street Carpark.
Beyond the stunning murals, festival-goers can engage in interactive experiences. The festival kicks off with an official launch party on October 18, featuring live art on shipping containers, music, and a pop-up bar. Throughout the week, Oh Hey WA will host guided walking tours, allowing visitors to get up close to the murals and learn more about the artists behind them.
For those wanting to get their hands dirty, a range of workshops will be available for all ages, from Paint by Numbers for kids to the popular Paint & Sip evenings. One of the event’s biggest highlights will be Blank Walls Live on October 25, where artists Sofles and Art by Row will face off in a live mural battle, accompanied by live music and DJ sets.
Presented by See Subiaco and supported by the City of Subiaco, No More Blank Walls Subi is set to be a celebration of street art like no other, making Subiaco the ultimate cultural destination this October. For more details, visit nomoreblankwalls.com.
