Tucked away on Beaufort Street, this cosy family Italian Trattoria complete with traditional red and white tablecloths is bringing a taste of authentic regional Italy to Perth in the homeliest of settings. But don’t be fooled, the food at Threecoins tastes just like Nonna makes but is all culinary class!
The family vibe makes this Mt Lawley gem one of our fav Italian restaurants in Perth, and with Threecoins as the literal translation of the Trequattrini family (who own and run the restaurant) you know that family is clearly the essence of everything that this Trattoria stands for. With an open kitchen, wood fired pizza oven, daily homemade pasta and the ‘family’ servicing the front and back of the restaurant, the quaint dining room instantly feels like home.
We were lucky enough to be seated in front of the pasta making table where the chefs were preparing the ravioli and making the gnocchi for the day’s service. Watching the pasta masters at work was such a visual delight which added to the buzz of the busy restaurant, and made our decision to order pasta over pizza easy.
From the crispy polenta crusted squid, to our main dishes of prawn linguini and lamb gnocchi, along with attentive service, Threecoins delivered on all levels. Let’s just say our plates where empty, belly’s full and we left with a smile from ear to ear knowing that we just found our new fav place.
