The long-awaited Perth City – Northbridge link is well and truly underway, with the launch of a fantastic new venue, Market Grounds; a 780-seat pub in the CBD’s new King’s Square.
Class and history are synonymous with the impressive double-storey Market Grounds venue, and the spectacular fit-out pays homage to the historical roots of the area, the Perth Markets, which dates back to 1897. The tan leather and plush velvet interior is complimented by the diverse spaces on offer, including the lively downstairs market bar and restaurant, the upstairs sunken lounge and Mercado Bar, as well as some stunning alfresco spaces overlooking King’s Square.
The food on offer is second-to-none, and is largely influenced by the history of the venue, with a market-inspired menu carefully curated by some of Perth’s best chefs. Select from an assortment of food options under the banners of ‘Fish Monger’, ‘Butcher’, ‘Baker’, ‘Grocer’ and ‘Patisserie & Fromagery’ in the restaurant, with a menu designed for sharing. For something more casual, the bar menu offers a selection of pub classics and ‘Market Bites’, with a generous choice of meals and snacks.
Market Grounds is set to be the crowning glory of the Perth City Link, and will draw crowds from the Perth Arena as well as public transport users, with its close proximity to the Busport entrance. With the biggest beer garden in Perth, this Summer is set to be spectacular at Market Grounds!
